At Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, we recognize that children are a gift from God.  We recognize the responsibilty that accompanies this gift.  We want to evangelize and disciple your children.  We also realize that the church must partner with you and support you in forming the foundation on which your child will build his or her life.

The purpose of our preschool ministry is to help each child:

  • Associate God, Jesus, and the Bible with happy feelings.

  • To make progress in solving problems, sharing, and expressing self.

  • To know that the Bible is a special book that tells about God and Jesus.

  • To think of church as the happy place.

  • To begin thinking of others and adjusting to their interests.

These objectives and concepts are taught through the use of activity areas:

art, blocks, books, home living, music, natural world, and puzzles.

We have several areas that our children can learn and grow in their faith.

1. Sunday School

Every Sunday morning at 9:15 am, our children have the opportunity to come to church and hear a story or sing songs to help them learn more about Jesus Christ.  Their parents also have a Sunday School class they can attend and participate in.

2. AWANA

Our Wednesday night program, AWANA, starts at 5:00 with a meal, and then our children go to their age appropriate clubs where they will have activities, Bible study, scripture memorization, and teaching.  This is a great program for all of our children to help them "grow in wisdom and stature" (Luke 2:52).

3. Children's Choir, RA'S and GA'S

Our children meet each Sunday at 4:30 pm for choir then move to their missions classes at 5:00 pm.

7th -12th Grade

"Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers
in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity."

1 Timothy 4:12

We welcome all teenagers to join our youth group!

Our youth ministry at Pleasant Hill offers several opportunities every week for students (grades 7-12) to grow in Christ through the learning of God’s Word.

During the school year on Wednesday nights we meet at 5:00 and eat together a wonderful meal (for free).  Then we meet up stairs in the youth area for activities, worship, and a message from God's word.  Often, after hearing some preachin' we have small groups to discuss the message and learn how to apply it to our lives.

Wednesday Night:

5:00 - Meal

5:30 - Activity

6:00 - Worship/Preachin'

6:30 - Small Groups

7:00 - Dismissed

Every Sunday morning, students divide into guys and girls classes for a morning bible study (Sunday School) before the corporate worship service.

Every Wednesday night during the summer, we meet at various homes of our youth for a devotional and time of hanging out.

What is our College Ministry?

Our college ministry offers our college students a place to continue their transition from teenager to adulthood.  We offer a college Sunday School class which focuses on issues relevant to college students.  Our college students are also allowed to continue activities with the youth group as more of an adult figure rather than as a student.  This helps provide our younger youth with a role model to look up to as well as provide an opportunity for our college students to take on more responsibility in our church.

Our college students also have several trips specifically for them throughout the year.  Over Christmas break, our college students have the opportunity to attend the Passion Conference typically held in Atlanta, Georgia.  In the fall, our college students participate in the "Senior Trip" with the destination decided upon by our graduating seniors.  Our college ministry is also involved at the Baptist Student Unions on the campuses of Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Southwest Mississippi Community College which encourage students to prayerfully consider participating in national and international mission trips throughout the summer months.
